Rachel Smith is a communications strategist based in Sacramento, California, with over 17 years of experience in crafting and executing high-impact public relations campaigns. As the founder and owner of WordSmith Communications since 2017, Rachel specializes in message and content development, media relations, and community engagement. She has worked with clients such as Ford Motor Company, Blue Shield of California, and Walgreen's. Her extensive career includes a decade-long tenure as Vice President and Media Relations Director at a statewide public affairs firm, where she managed public relations practices and media relations for corporate clients, political campaigns, and non-profits. Rachel's expertise extends to public speaking, event management, and developing community-centric campaigns. She is known for her ability to foster positive media coverage and impactful placements in top-tier publications, significantly amplifying brand visibility and engagement.

 

Rachel holds a degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, with a minor in US History. She is passionate about leveraging her skills to support mission-driven organizations that focus on mental health, youth, and veterans.
